If you are lucky to have a very loving and caring family then Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

would not be a hugely disturbing illness. If on the other hand, you live alone/ do not have a 

closely knit family, then the State steps in when some deteriorating period has  taken place.
Living alone is fantastic when one is able to function independently. However, when the eccentric

activities of those who live alone go unnoticed because neighbours prefer to mind their own 

business and the suffering person’s condition/state of health goes undiagnosed.
 
This deminding of the mind illness is really debilitating and a cure must be found very , very 

quickly. There is stigma, even in this 21st. century and it sticks like glue to Alzheimer’s Disease 

and Dementia. Statistics indicate there are more women than men diagnosed with this illness. 

WHY?.

Would there be an urgency if more men suffer from this awful illness?. Scientists and Politicians 

must  accelerate researches and more funding made available to find an urgent cure.
 
Those affected must be enabled to retain their dignity and this requires having competent, 

experienced and qualified individuals with moral standing as Carers.

             race, educational achievements or social standing. It affects anyone over 50.

• It is true that no cure has been found just yet for Alzheimers Disease. Scientist are hotly
